Research Description:
My research focuses on elucidating the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying adaptive traits in weeds. My overarching work integrates weed physiology and bioinformatics through three main approaches: assembling and annotating weed genomes, molecularly characterizing specific target genes, and developing diagnostic assays to support agronomic decision-making.
Currently, my research is centered on two key projects:
-
Weed Genomics & Annotation: Performing genome annotation and re-annotation across diverse weed species by combining high-throughput computational genomics with empirical weed physiology.
-
Herbicide Resistance Diagnostics: Developing a high-throughput, cost-effective genotyping platform based on targeted Genotyping-by-Sequencing (tGBS). My work involves in silico target-site gene annotation and building automated bioinformatics pipelines to analyze variant calls and resistance mutations from sequencing data.
