Soni Kumari, PhD
Biography
Dr. Soni Kumari is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on sustainable water and wastewater treatment, nutrient recovery, agricultural water quality, and resource recovery. Her work investigates phosphorus transport and mitigation in agricultural drainage systems, including the development and field evaluation of phosphorus-sorbing materials and edge-of-field treatment systems. Her broader scholarly program integrates environmental engineering, circular nutrient management, and applied water-quality research to develop practical solutions for protecting water resources and improving environmental sustainability.
