João Lucas holds a B.S. in Agronomy from the Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) in Brazil, with a background in crop production, soil fertility, and coffee management.

Current research:

Interested in sustainable crop production, soil-plant interactions, and crop modeling. My research focuses on understanding how soil, weather, and management practices affect crop productivity, resource use efficiency, and environmental sustainability for coffee.

My background in crop production and soil fertility has shaped my interest in developing data-driven approaches to agricultural systems that can support better decision-making and sustainable crop production.
